Coronet 41 "The Ferryman"
This Coronet 41, designed by Dutch yacht designer Dick Zall, was launched in 1995. She was completed and handed over in 1996 and remained with the first owner until she was taken over by the current owner in 2013. The Coronet 41, an aluminum construction with round bilge and electric-hydraulic lifting keel, combines the characteristics of a comfortable and elegant sailing yacht with high seaworthiness and outstanding sailing characteristics. With a draught of approx. 0.8 meters and a raised keel, even shallow waters and falling dry are no problem. The aluminum hull ensures stability and safety in heavy seas, rocky groundings and collisions. The generous layout and optimum utilization of the interior space make the Coronet 41 the perfect companion for long journeys worldwide.
"The Ferryman" underwent an almost complete refit from 2017 to 2020. The aim was to convert the Coronet into a practical, technically well-equipped sailing yacht suitable for everyday use. The result is a sailing yacht that is at home in any body of water worldwide. The entire boat has been insulated for cooler days and environments. The reliable Dickinson diesel stove now serves as the heat source, keeping the entire boat pleasantly warm even in sub-zero temperatures. All windows and hatches have been newly installed. Large air scoops ensure optimum air exchange in the boat. With the exception of the sinks, the sanitary facilities have been completely replaced with a new on-board toilet and seawater-resistant stainless steel mixer taps. Hoses, the water supply and the on-board outlets were renewed. The galley now has a space-saving Engel refrigerator drawer and a Force 10 gas stove with oven. The entire electronics have been replaced. Almost all the old cables have been removed. The lighting has been completely converted to LED. There are 230v sockets throughout the boat. The sine wave converter receives sufficient power from four 240 Ah supply batteries. For larger power requirements, the 3.5 kW diesel generator from Whisperpower serves as a reliable and stable power source. Automatic chargers from Mastervolt and Sterling ensure that all batteries are always charged when the boat is underway or in port.
A lot has also been invested in the deck. All blocks, lines, deflectors, genoa rails with slides, halyard stoppers and much more were replaced. The electric hydraulics of the lifting keel were renewed and running rails were installed in the keel tunnel. The mainsail and the cutter jib were also rebuilt during the refit.
The owner pays particular attention to the greatest possible protection in the event of a breakdown or an accident. This means that every single consumer is specially protected. All cable ducts and channels are easily accessible. Several extra-large busbars throughout the boat ensure sufficient earthing. Documentation including circuit diagrams is available. All water pipes are easy to trace. Openings in the floor provide easy access to every seawater valve. Two large water tanks, each with its own water pump, provide sufficient drinking water. The new Kubota diesel engine from 2022 is mounted on rails. This makes it easy to separate it from the shaft and pull it into the saloon. And if the wind is not blowing, 300 liters of diesel should be enough to reach the next port safely.
Technically, "The Ferryman" is in very good and complete condition. Visually, the upper deck can be repainted in some places. There is no risk of rust due to the material. The interior, which is predominantly in its original condition, and the teak floor are in a sufficiently well-kept condition. Due to its very good substance, this can be easily and quickly refurbished if necessary. .
