However, what happened afterwards is crucial: between 2008 and 2016, the boat was completely rebuilt. The deck and superstructure were renewed, windows and upholstery replaced and the entire electrical system redrawn. The drive and technology were also rebuilt: a completely overhauled Mercedes OM601 diesel with a new reversing gear and new shaft system. For you, this means that the typical issues of an older boat have already been dealt with - you are not embarking on a project, but on a functioning system.
The OM601 stands for exactly what counts on the water: simple maintenance, high reliability and a spare parts situation that will not cause any problems in the long term. Not an exotic engine, but proven technology.
The equipment is also designed for real operation: Dual-circuit cooling for gentle engine running, electro-hydraulic rudder system for precise maneuvering and a hot water heater for extended use beyond the season. Navigation is via chart plotter and VHF radio, supplemented by compass, speed display and full position lighting.
Below deck you will find a functional galley with ceramic hob, fridge and sink. Shore connection, battery charger, charge disconnect diode and deck lighting are installed - the on-board technology is fully usable without retrofitting.
