Mahogany Cruiser "Kitty"
This mahogany cruiser from the Norwegian shipyard Hansen & Arnutzen is a completely handcrafted one-off. The hull and superstructure are made of mahogany on oak. The deck is made of teak and the entire interior is made of mahogany. The "Kitty" is entered via the stern. The wide gangway leads to the spacious cockpit with the steering position. Towards the stern, the large terrace invites you to linger. Below the terrace is the large owner's cabin with two single beds and en-suite bathroom. Towards the bow is the saloon with convertible seating and the galley with a large fridge with freezer compartment, gas stove and sink. In front of the bow cabin with V-berths, there is a second wet room to starboard with an electric toilet and sink. There are plenty of cupboards, compartments and storage space throughout the boat, making longer stays and vacations possible.
The "Kitty" has two powerful 6-cylinder Cummins diesel engines with a total of approx. 428 hp. Both engines with reversing gearboxes run flawlessly and proved their reliability during the transfer from Norway to Germany in 2020.
In recent years, a lot has been invested in the cruiser and modernized, including new batteries for the 12V and 24V system with corresponding chargers. There is a new diesel heater, an anchor windlass with anchor and a stainless steel davit that can still be installed.
In June 2023, the underwater hull was completely rebuilt at the Laboe shipyard. The master boat builder there confirmed the good structural condition of the boat and the hull in particular.
Due to health restrictions, the owner was unable to continue restoring the "Kitty". The hull above the waterline and the superstructure require a thorough overhaul. The interior is almost in its original and largely functional condition. Here, too, a corresponding refurbishment and restoration is required.
