The Fantasi 31 from the Jacobssons shipyard is a rarity: only around 25 examples were ever built, each one individually commissioned. The Bellatrix was not a standard boat from the outset - the first owner had a stepped cabin and aft cabin fitted individually, a configuration that no other Fantasi 31 has. The hull is made of wide mahogany planks on ash frames, hand-screwed and planked, with a finish that looks like plastic on the outside - and shows on the inside what wooden boat building means when it is done with care.
The boat underwent a complete refit by 2024: hull stripped down to the bare wood, gaps filled and sealed with epoxy, underwater hull triple-coated, deck and superstructure repainted, all windows replaced, mast base renewed. The Volvo Penta MD2003 was dismantled - head planned, valves refitted, all seals replaced. Last maintenance: 2025, plus two complete sets of sails (Hydranet + Dacron) and a new blister, new self-steering system, completely renewed navigation equipment. What this means: no hidden renovation backlog, no open construction sites.
The story of the Bellatrix tells the quality of the boat better than any equipment list: The current owner purchased her in 1998, bought her back in 2017 - and brought her back from the Mediterranean by truck. Then seven years of refit. Anyone who recovers and refits a boat in this way has understood it. If you buy it now, you get the result.
In short: One of ~25 Fantasi 31s built, with individual special superstructures since first order, fully refitted until 2024, engine completely overhauled, ready to sail immediately - CE category A. Rare on the market, exceptional in this condition.
