Ylva 40 - one of around 100, three times class winner at the Sjælland Rundt - sailed by the designer himself. If you know what that means, you need no further explanation.
The Ylva 40 is not a production boat, but a design for sailors who know what they are doing. Designed by Steen Kjølhede, who sailed it himself and won the Sjælland Rundt several times - a boat with proven performance, not just theoretical.
The hull follows a clear idea: maximum efficiency under sail. With an L/B ratio of 5.34, the Ylva 40 is one of the slimmest designs of its time - and remains so to this day. You can feel the result immediately: speed up to eight knots upwind, precise feedback at the helm and behavior that remains stable even when the wind picks up. Not a sluggish cruising boat, but a direct, reactive sailor.
This specimen is well maintained and ready for use. Relevant investments have been made: Diesel heating renewed in 2018, battery charger new in 2024, engine maintenance also in 2024. The sail package is complete and practical: Mainsail, self-tacking jib, genoa 2 and 3 as well as gennaker and spinnaker - each with recovery tube and in good condition. The deck layout allows controlled sailing, even alone or with a small crew.
In short: a rare performance yacht with real racing DNA, clear history and a complete setup - built for sailors looking for speed and control.
