Built in 1944 for the Swedish Navy and later converted into a salon boat for the Swedish royal family, the Graf Fäx is a documented one-of-a-kind vessel from the Rambeck shipyard on Lake Starnberg, one of the most renowned German shipyards of the 20th century. Boats like this rarely come onto the market—they usually remain in private hands until they disappear.
From 1998 to 2008, the ship was completely rebuilt by the Michael Schlott engineering firm in Glückstadt: new hull, new superstructure, new interior. This is not a restoration project you buy, but rather the result of a transformation—the Graf Fäx has structurally entered a second lease on life. All wooden superstructures and the deck were repainted in December 2025, and the underwater hull was repainted in April 2025. New bow and stern thrusters were installed in 2024, and the navigation package—Furuno radar, Simrad chartplotter, and VHF with AIS, Raymarine autopilot—has been complete since 2016.
The 1962 Volvo Penta MD47 is known in the classic boat community for its durability; it was last serviced in 2025. Its 700-liter fuel capacity provides a range that is unusually long for this engine. With five berths (one double bed, three single beds), a shower, and an electric toilet, the boat is equipped for multi-day trips.
