No other 5-meter boat rides like this: The Boesch 500 does not stand for data - it stands for a driving experience that has remained unchanged since the 1950s.
Walter Boesch developed the Type 500 in 1952 as the manufacturer's first series model - and with it the Horizon Gliding principle: inspired by seaplanes, designed for horizontal running instead of a rising bow wave. No boat should lift its nose, but glide flat and stable over the water. The result was so convincing that Boesch boats were the official pull boats at the World and European Water Ski Championships from 1960 to 1991. Romy Schneider, Udo Jürgens and other celebrities were among the buyers. Today, the manufactory produces 30 to 40 boats a year - by hand, in mahogany, in Switzerland.
This 1961 example combines precisely this driving experience with proven substance: the Crusader V8 with 201 hp was overhauled directly at Boesch in Switzerland after 829 hours. Not an external overhaul, but factory work - documented with an original invoice for CHF 34,251. In this segment, this is not a detail, but a key value factor.
The history is also clearly evident beyond this: in private ownership throughout, carefully maintained, no open construction sites. The equipment remains classically functional - instrumentation, bathing platform with ladder, water ski eye and mirror as well as complete tarpaulin and accessory equipment.
This boat is not bought to get from A to B. It is bought because it can do something that modern boats no longer deliver: character in its handling, substance in its construction and a provenance that can be documented.
In short: original Boesch 500s with unique handling, documented factory overhaul and clear history - a classic for buyers who are deliberately not looking for standard.
